What to do with your electronic and electrical refuse once the municipal facility won't take them.
Yukoners will have to take their designated electronic and electrical products to Raven Recycling Society in Whitehorse starting October 1st.
The change comes due to changes of the Designated Materials Regulation of the Environment Act.
The amendments to the act means end-of-life electronic products will have to be recycled and starting October 1, the Government of Yukon will collect a surcharge at the point-of-sale for designated recycling materials.

The designated material surcharge will be used to support recycling efforts and ensure charges are collected up front from the recycler instead of being dispersed amongst the general tax payer.
Raven Recycling is located on 100 Galena Road, and Yukoners outside of Whitehorse can drop off their e-waste at existing municipal and community recycling depots.
