Officers had to force their way into the residence to arrest the two individuals, identified as 47-year-old Rodney Bailey and 32-year-old Lateesha Wolki. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a .32 caliber handgun.
Whitehorse RCMP responded to a 911 call on December 22nd, of two individuals making threats and taking over another person's private residence. While enroute officers learned that one of the individuals was armed with a hatchet.
Officers had to force their way into the residence to arrest the two individuals, identified as 47-year-old Rodney Bailey and 32-year-old Lateesha Wolki. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a .32 caliber handgun.
Both Bailey and Wolki are currently being held for court at the Arrest Processing Unit in Whitehorse and are being charged with the following offences:
· Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose;
· Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon;
· Possession of restricted weapon with ammunition;
· Weapons possession contrary to order;
· Uttering threats;
· Mischief - obstruct enjoyment of property; and
· Breach of recognizance.
Bailey is also being charged for the following offences in relation to a December 16th, 2020 incident where Bailey presented an axe to a cab driver and threatened him with it in lieu of payment:
· Assault with a weapon, uttering threats;
· Being unlawfully at large; and
· Obtain transportation by fraud.
There was also a warrant for Bailey's arrest in regards to an earlier assault.
